I work in a residential setting with children and youth mostly with children with autism. Sometimes atypical children who are being placed into the foster care system. My job is to support these children and youth by teach them social skills as well life skills to promote independence.

There are so many stories! My biggest joy is to be travelling a fourth time with a client to visit his elderly mother who lives in another province. This is not easy considering the person is non ambulant. But seeing my client's pride, joy and happiness far exceeds the extra effort to make the trip a reality.

I work with infants and toddlers and it is awesome and exhausting. I love being able to help families when they are feeling very unsure about leaving their babies in a new environment with people they hardly know.
